Asking for a Leave of Absence

　　Dear Mr. Smith,

　　I would like to know if I could ask for a leave from your oral English class this coming Wednesday morning.

　　Yesterday I got a phone call from my friend, who owns a small company in the south suburb of this city. He needs someone who can speak English to work as a tour guide for three foreigners for two days. He wants me to have a try. Personally, I think this is a good chance for me to practice my spoken English. However, if I take the job, I will not be able to attend your class this Wednesday, so I need your permission.

　　I will really appreciate it if I can get your permission for my absence from class.
